Diller Scofidio+Renfro

I choose Diller Scofidio+Renfro as my 2b’s reference to do my work. Diller Scofidio + Renfro is an American interdisciplinary design studio, and it  integrates architecture, the visual arts, and the performing arts together. This studio based in New York city and there are four people to be the leader and work with others like architects, scientists and artists. From the model of Canvas, I have a little understanding of what is Diller Scofidio+Renfro and what is the main style of this design studio, but it is not enough. Therefore, I do more research about this studio and the style of it. The high line is the most famous project of this studio which is located in New York, America. The high line is an overpass for people to walk, the feature of it is they use many straight lines to decorate the overpass not only for the ground floor, but also for the frame of the green plant. Overall, the characteristic of Diller Scofidio+Renfro is using line and repeated fractal shape to design the architecture.

Therefore, I use these shapes to do my sculpture and choose plastic material and wire as my main material. The plastic could show the spacing of the building and give audience a sense of modern. The straight wire could represent the straight line that this studio used. That could make my project have more connections with Diller Scofidio+Renfro.
